EastEnders star Danny Dyer has teased what this year\u2019s Christmas episode will be focusing on, explaining the spotlight will be on \u201clove and relationships\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s definitely about love and relationships,\u201d the soap star told RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press in a Q&A.<\/p>\n

The Mick Carter actor, who\u2019s leaving the BBC series<\/a> this month, promised an intense episode following Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) and Jay Brown\u2019s (Jamie Borthwick) engagement\u00a0as she\u2019s been diagnosed with terminal cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the soap will also deal with the possible resolution of the Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) love triangle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd you know you\u2019ve got the whole Lola thing going on with little Jay and, of course, Alfie, Phil and Kat going on. It\u2019s about relationships, actually,\u201d Dyer said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we\u2019ve done a lot of Christmases over the years. We came in at Christmas, so it\u2019s an intense process, and it\u2019s tough. But you know, when you get the right dialogue and the right material it\u2019s such a beautiful thing,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know that you\u2019re reaching a lot of people on such a massive platform. You know, everyone wants to sit down and watch a bit of EastEnders.\u201d<\/p>\n

The soap\u2019s Christmas storylines will include the dramatic wedding ceremony of Mick and Janine (Charlie Brooks), with both characters set to leave the Square. While it is not clear whether the couple will actually tie the knot, it\u2019s safe to say that Janine\u2019s schemes are set to be exposed, leading to a showdown with Mick and his ex-wife Linda<\/a> (Kellie Bright).<\/p>
