With Christmas<\/a> being a time to eat, drink and watch tonnes of telly,\u00a0Doctor Who<\/a> fans are planning their own festive watching on the big day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Emily Cook, a former editorial assistant of Doctor Who Magazine<\/a> and organiser of <\/span>Doctor Who: Lockdown!<\/a>, <\/span>rallied<\/span> the troops via Twitter<\/a> with the following callout: \u201cOK, by popular demand, let\u2019s do a tweetalong of The Christmas Invasion! <\/span>Christmas Day @ 7pm GMT <\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018This is a one-off. No extras or surprise guests, just fans coming together (I know some are on their own) to celebrate Who at Xmas & David Tennant\u2019s return in 2023,\u201d she announced.<\/span><\/p>\n

As Doctor Who fans will know, the episode was written by Russell T Davies and aired on Christmas Day 2005. It was the first official special in the franchise and David Tennant\u2019s first full episode as the Tenth Doctor.<\/span><\/p>\n

He crashes the TARDIS in London on Christmas Eve, before fainting, which is alarming in and of itself, but the Sycorax have also arrived in the capital to enslave mankind, which makes matters significantly more challenging.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alongside Tennant, there was Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, Camille Coduri as Jackie Tyler and a raft of other familiar faces including Penelope Wilton, Adam Garcia and Paul Anderson.<\/p>

While promoting Sky comedy-drama I Hate Suzie Too<\/a>\u00a0recently, Piper was asked if she\u2019d change a plot point or ending<\/a> in any of her projects (via BuzzFeed<\/a>), and this is what she had to say:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not a criticism of Russell T Davies, because he is the master, but I struggled with that. Mainly because the second Doctor is less good than the real one!\u201d<\/p>\n

She was also asked if she\u2019d sign up to a Rose Tyler spin-off if the opportunity arose: \u201cIf it was shot in London \u2013 sorry that\u2019s a really loveless answer!<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a running theme here, I don\u2019t want to work much. It was like four episodes all shot in London, then yeah, I\u2019d be like a rat-up-a-drainpipe for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
