Read on to find out everything you need to know.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How to watch Mark Gatiss\u2019s A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The original show was directed\u00a0by Adam Penford at the Nottingham Playhouse and was later filmed during its run at London\u2019s Alexandra Palace Theatre last year.<\/p>\n<p>It was then released in UK cinemas nationwide for a short period between 27th November and 1st December. But fans will be pleased to learn that A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story will air on BBC Four on Christmas Day (Sunday 25th December) at 7pm. It will also be available to watch online on BBC iPlayer from the same date.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the news, Gatiss told <a href=\"\/\/radiotimes.com\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">RadioTimes.com<\/a> exclusively: \u201c<span class=\"&quot;ContentPasted0&quot;\">I was very glad we got to record it \u2013 it was on in a few cinemas, but obviously BBC Four is a much wider audience. So I\u2019m very proud \u2013 it\u2019s really nicely done and what I love about it is it\u2019s extremely theatrical. It\u2019s not a movie, it is a very good record of the show, with all its inherent theatricality. I\u2019m very pleased it\u2019s got another life.\u201d<\/span><\/p> <p>While many may already know the tale, it\u2019s always worth a refresher. As the synopsis reads: \u201cIt\u2019s a cold Christmas Eve and mean-spirited miser Ebenezer Scrooge (Farrell) has an unexpected visit from the spirit of his former business partner Jacob Marley (Gatiss).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBound in chains as punishment for a lifetime of greed, the unearthly figure explains it isn\u2019t too late for Scrooge to change his miserly ways in order to escape the same fate, but first he\u2019ll have to face three more eerie encounters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Joining Gatiss in the show are James Backway as Fred, Jo Eaton-Kent as the Ghost of Christmas Past and Joe Shire as the Ghost of Christmas Present.<\/p>\n<p>Zak Ford-Williams plays Tiny Tim, Aoife Gaston is Belle, Christopher Godwin is the Narrator, Edward Harrison plays Bob Cratchit and Sarah Ridgeway is Mrs Cratchit.<\/p>\n<iframe title=\"&quot;A\" christmas=\"\" carol:=\"\" a=\"\" ghost=\"\" story=\"\" cinema=\"\" trailer=\"\" width=\"&quot;200&quot;\" height=\"&quot;113&quot;\" src=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-WUXaxGHGTI?feature=oembed&quot;\" frameborder=\"&quot;0&quot;\" allow=\"&quot;accelerometer;\" autoplay=\"\" clipboard-write=\"\" encrypted-media=\"\" gyroscope=\"\" picture-in-picture=\"\" allowfullscreen=\"\"\/>\n<p dir=\"&quot;ltr&quot;\">As well as the stage production getting five star reviews across the board, Gatiss has very fond memories of the 1970 film, which left an imprint on him regarding a future portrayal of Marley.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"&quot;ltr&quot;\">Speaking to <strong>RadioTimes.com<\/strong>, he revealed: \u201c<span class=\"&quot;ContentPasted0&quot;\">I saw the Albert Finney film [1970\u2019s Scrooge] when I was four. It\u2019s one of the first films I have very vivid memories of \u2013 about the first half dozen movies I saw have all left a very big imprint on me and that\u2026 I loved it so much. I was scared to death, but I loved Alec Guinness as Marley.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"&quot;ltr&quot;\"><span class=\"&quot;ContentPasted0&quot;\">\u201cWeirdly, more than Scrooge, I always thought, \u2018That\u2019s the part I\u2019d love to play.\u2019 Maybe because he\u2019s doomed? It\u2019s quite moving \u2013 he intervenes seven years after his death on his friend\u2019s behalf, to do a good thing.
