\u201cI was thrown by what you said,\u201d she admitted. \u201cIt made me realise how much I care about you and how important you are to me, as a friend.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n It wasn\u2019t the happy ending Neville or the audience were hoping for, but things appear to be looking up for the detective.<\/p>\n In the Christmas special<\/a>, he has an awkward encounter with a woman called Sophie, who is holidaying on the island of Saint Marie.<\/p>\n He knocks into her with a suitcase before swapping their luggage and driving off with her belongings \u2013 but not before he almost crashes into her taxi. It\u2019s all accidental, we should add, but it doesn\u2019t make his actions any less painful or irritating, with both parties leaving the scene flustered.<\/p>\n \u201cReally not your day is it?\u201d says Sophie, visibly irked.<\/p>\n \u201cApparently not,\u201d he sighs.<\/p>\n Eventually, Sophie turns up at the police station looking for her belongings and again, the exchange between the pair is painfully awkward.<\/p>\n \u201cFinally I can put some clean clothes on,\u201d she says. \u201cI\u2019m wearing the same ones I arrived in.\u201d<\/p>\n Neville, trying to lighten the moment, replies: \u201cI was wondering what the smell was.\u201d<\/p>\n Realising she might not appreciate his comment, he adds: \u201cThat\u2019s only a joke. I didn\u2019t\u2026. You smell great.\u201d<\/p>\n Cue bemused expressions from Naomi and Marlon.<\/p> But Sophie appears to find his babbling endearing and at the end of the episode, the pair sit down to enjoy Christmas lunch together.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s way too much for me here,\u201d Neville says of the food in front of him. \u201cMaybe you could help me out with it?\u201d<\/p>\n Sophie is more than happy to oblige: \u201cI thought you\u2019d never ask.\u201d<\/p>\n Will Neville finally get his happy ever after?
