Emotional BBC drama Mayflies<\/a> lands on our screens tonight and adapts Andrew O\u2019Hagan\u2019s 2020 book of the same name. The Scottish series tells the story of lifelong friends Tully (Tony Curran) and Jimmy (Martin Compston) after Tully is diagnosed with terminal cancer.<\/p>\n

The two-parter<\/a> explores terminal illness, as well as euthanasia<\/a> as Tully asks Jimmy to help him travel to Switzerland in order to end his own life. It\u2019s a series that is \u201cby far the most emotionally challenging<\/a> job I\u2019ve ever done\u201d, according to Compston.<\/p>\n
