The new season will be set in Devon, but the location won\u2019t be the only change-up fans can expect to the show from Death in Paradise\u2019s formula.<\/p>\n
Speaking in the new issue of Radio Times magazine<\/strong>, the series\u2019 writer Tony Jordan explained: \u201cIt\u2019s got the same uplifting escapism as Death in Paradise, and a puzzle to work out in every episode.<\/p>\n \u201cThe way we differentiate it is, it\u2019s not always murder, and the way we do our reveal has changed. We\u2019ve taken the good stuff, and we\u2019ve added to it, and made it slightly different.\u201d<\/p>\n Jordan also revealed that the show will look \u201c100 per cent as beautiful as Death in Paradise\u201d, with the team having filmed in \u201cglorious Devon\u201d and added: \u201cYou know what? It may rain less, because we film in the rainy season in Guadeloupe.\u201d<\/p>\n This follows on from what Marshall previously told<\/a> the Radio Times<\/strong>, with the actor saying in August: \u201cIt\u2019s carrying on from where we left Humphrey Goodman and Martha [Sally Bretton], with their new bucolic south-western lifestyle.\u201d<\/p> He continued: \u201cThe classic Death in Paradise way of wrapping up the show is spun on its head a bit \u2013 not every episode is a murder \u2013 so more sheep rustling and stuff like that! It puts an English Riviera spin on the show people know and love. Who needs the Caribbean?\u201d<\/p>\n Beyond Paradise will air on BBC One in 2023.
