The cobbles have housed many dastardly characters over the years, and MacLeod recently opened up about which ones he\u2019d like to see causing chaos once more in the ITV soap<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Speaking recently to the\u00a0press (via Digital Spy<\/a>), he revealed a potential return for villain<\/a> <\/span>Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor), who was imprisoned last year for <\/span>the murder of Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac).<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI would love to think that at some point we can revisit Will Mellor,\u201d he said. \u201cAt some point, I\u2019d love to think we can get Harvey on the street and get him in a room with Damon. By the time Harvey were to get out, him and Damon would be absolute enemies.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Viewers were introduced to newcomer Damon\u00a0<\/span>Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) towards the end of 2022 as he arrived on the cobbles to reunite with his son <\/span>Jacob (Jack James Ryan) <\/span>\u2013 and were shocked to discover that Damon was Harvey\u2019s half brother.<\/span><\/p>\n Fans then grew suspicious about Damon after he was shown making a discreet phone call, shortly before Harvey was attacked in his cell by another prisoner with a bat.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe idea of Harvey vs Damon in the future is tantalising,\u201d MacLeod continued.<\/span><\/p>\n The soap producer also revealed that a return for iconic character Sharon Bentley (Tracie Bennett), who happens to be Harvey\u2019s aunt, was also on the cards.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201c<\/span>Sharon is still out there<\/span>. Tracie Bennett is a very busy, in demand actor, but she definitely still exists out there,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cSharon is not biologically related to Damon, <\/span>who is Harvey\u2019s half brother<\/span>, but she is a wrong\u2019un who left with ambitions to take over the criminal underworld and family business. It\u2019s been discussed that she might make a return, but there\u2019s nothing on the table yet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n While Harvey and Sharon won\u2019t be back on the cobbles just yet, it looks like Damon will cause enough trouble<\/a> for all three of them in the new year.<\/span><\/p> \u201cDamon is dangerous,\u201d MacLeod teased. \u201cAt first, he might seem more sophisticated than his brother Harvey. He\u2019s less of a blunt instrument, but what we discover in the not too distant future is that more polished, jovial veneer masks something every bit as dangerous and brutal as Harvey.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n He added: \u201cDamon upends a lot of people\u2019s lives and brings criminality into a family that could probably do from moving on from their past.
