As ever, Lord Alan Sugar is searching for a business partner, and the successful candidate will receive a \u00a3250,000 investment to support their company, as well as guidance and expertise from the man himself.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Each week, the contestants will take part in challenges designed to showcase their business ability \u2013 then, one of them will have to grab their suitcase and head off in a black cab after being fired.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This time around, there are 18 new candidates<\/a> to keep track of. One of them is Joseph Phillips, a safari guide who reckons he\u2019s \u201cthe James Bond of the business world\u201d (not exactly sure what that means? Us neither).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n After studying zoology and animal behaviour, he now reckons he is \u201cunique enough to succeed\u201d in the show.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Here\u2019s what we know so far about Joseph.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Job:<\/b> Safari guide, South Africa\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n From: <\/b>Worcestershire<\/span><\/p>\n While many of the prospective candidates will have experience in sales or building their own business, Joseph brings something very different to the table: he\u2019s been working as a safari guide in South Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n Joseph was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was at school. \u201cI felt as if it was a weakness, something that was going to hold me back \u2013 and for a time, it did,\u201d he says.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAt school, I really struggled to keep my head above water. But now, this perceived weakness which held me back has become a driving force for me to succeed and prove what I\u2019m capable of.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n He says this eventually made him \u201cfight harder to keep up with everyone else\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n Joseph reckons that he doesn\u2019t \u201cdeserve Lord Sugar\u2019s investment more than anyone else in the process\u201d but (of course there\u2019s a \u201cbut\u201d) he <\/span>does <\/span><\/i>believe that he \u201c[has] something that they don\u2019t\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIf Lord Sugar wants to invest in a business to help save the ocean, one lip balm at a time, then I\u2019m his guy,\u201d he adds. We\u2019ll have to tune in to learn more about these eco-friendly balms.<\/span><\/p> The first episode will be landing on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Thursday 5th January at 9pm, making it a great antidote to any back-to-work blues.<\/span><\/p>\n The new candidates will be wheeling their suitcases through airport security and heading off to Antigua to design, sell and run excursions for holidaymakers.<\/span><\/p>\n Lord Sugar\u2019s trusted advisors Karren Brady and Claude Littner (who is set to take part in two episodes<\/a>\u00a0this season, with Tim Campbell appearing in the remaining 10) will be keeping a close eye on proceedings.<\/span><\/p>\n When the hopefuls eventually touch down on UK soil, it\u2019ll be decision time for Lord Sugar, who must make his first firing of the season. <\/span><\/p>\n The Apprentice will return to BBC One and <\/strong>BBC iPlayer<\/strong><\/a> on Thursday 5th January 2023.
