Glass Onion cameo star Hugh Grant has opened up about the romance <\/span>between his character and Daniel Craig\u2019s master detective Benoit Blanc.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Knives Out sequel<\/a> sees Grant appear briefly as Phillip, Blanc\u2019s husband, w<\/span>hen\u00a0<\/span>Janelle Mon\u00e1e\u2019s character<\/span><\/a> appears at Benoit\u2019s house.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the detective busy playing Among Us with Stephen Sondeim,<\/span>\u00a0Angela Lansbury, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Natasha Lyonne online, it\u2019s up to Phillip to open the front door \u2013 and viewers get a fleeting glimpse of him sporting an apron and holding a sourdough mixture.<\/span><\/p>\n

While it\u2019s clear Phillip and Benoit are an item, Glass Onion<\/a> never confirms how long the pair have been together or their relationship status.<\/span><\/p>\n

But now, Grant\u00a0<\/span>has confirmed he was \u201cmarried to James Bond\u201d, as well as admitting he didn\u2019t\u00a0know why he was asked to appear in the Netflix<\/a> film.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking about the cameo with Collider<\/a>, <\/span>he said: \u201cIt is true, I\u2019m married to James Bond.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cIt\u2019s the tiniest little moment. I don\u2019t really know why they wanted to do it but anyway, I thought Knives Out 1 was brilliant, and so yeah, I thought why not? I\u2019ll turn up for a few hours.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The film\u2019s LGBTQ+ representation has drawn both praise and backlash from fans, with many criticising the blink-and-you\u2019ll-miss-it nature of\u00a0Grant\u2019s appearance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Director Rian Johnson previously teased that although Blanc\u2019s sexuality hasn\u2019t been a focus of the first two films, it could play a larger role in the planned third film.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0Above the Line<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0the Glass Onion red carpet at the Philadelphia Film Festival back in 2022, Johnson said:\u00a0\u201cIf you watch the movie, I think it\u2019s made explicit. In terms of exploring it, I mean, maybe, but with these movies, I mean, they\u2019re not really about the detective\u2019s sexuality\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cI\u2019m sure it\u2019ll come into play because it\u2019s a big part of who he is, obviously. It\u2019s just a fact about his character.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
