There\u2019s been plenty of discussion about the BBC\u2019s new deal with Disney Plus<\/a> and how it will affect Doctor Who<\/a> \u2013 but returning showrunner Russell T Davies<\/a> has set a few things straight.<\/p>\n

Following reports that the BBC sci-fi will now receive a monumental budget of \u00a310 million per episode, Davies has debunked the rumours.<\/p>\n

Asked about the circulating reports, the showrunner explained to Doctor Who Magazine<\/a>: \u201cThat has been exaggerated. If that was the budget, I\u2019d be speaking to you from my base on the Moon.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is not the budget, and I worry that misinformation like that creates false expectation. Nonetheless, we have a lovely, handsome budget, and we\u2019re very happy with how we\u2019re proceeding with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Executive producer Jane Tranter added: \u201cIt\u2019s a really good budget for us. But we are not Game of Thrones. Or The Rings of Power<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>
