The latest film from Ari Aster, the acclaimed writer-director of horror hits Hereditary and Midsommar, is on its way to cinemas later this year, and it\u2019s fair to say it arrives with plenty of hype<\/a> and intrigue surrounding it.<\/p>\n Titled Beau is Afraid, the film has been described as both a \u201cnightmare comedy\u201d and \u201cingeniously depraved\u201d \u2013 no surprise there based on Aster\u2019s previous work.<\/p>\n It features Joaquin Phoenix in the central role, with his co-star Stephen McKinley Henderson previously telling The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> that the star had a working relationship with Aster which was as though they were \u201creally old friends\u201d.<\/p>\n He said: \u201c[Joaquin] and Ari were so simpatico, and they worked together for the whole film. I came in pretty close to the end of the shoot and so they had been working a while. And their way of working together was like they were really old friends. They could get upset and make up in the span of seconds, it seemed.
