We don\u2019t have long now until the first batch of islanders arrive at the villa for season 9 of Love Island<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One of those Love Island 2023 contestants<\/a> is airport security officer Shaq Muhammad<\/a>, who says his parents are in for a \u201cshock\u201d when they see him on the ITV2 show.<\/p>\n

Asked how he thinks his parents will react to watching him on the dating series, he told RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press: \u201cI think they\u2019re going to be surprised by everything!\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cMy parents have never seen me flirt with a girl or try to get with a girl, so I feel like anything I do whether it\u2019s flirting or casual conversations and things like that, they\u2019re just going to be shocked because they\u2019ve never seen it and they don\u2019t know that side of me.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo yeah, I think they\u2019re going to be really shocked just to see me flirting in general.\u201d<\/p>\n

As well as his parents, some of Shaq\u2019s co-workers at the airport might be surprised to see him on the show, with the 24-year-old admitting: \u201cIt was all pretty hush-hush. I couldn\u2019t really tell anyone. I had to keep it under wraps.\u201d<\/p>\n

He did get to tell his manager, however.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was really excited about it. And she said, \u2018Oh my god! I can\u2019t believe you\u2019re going to be on it. Don\u2019t forget me,\u2019 and all this stuff. So she was quite excited. But I did have to keep it to myself for obvious reasons.\u201d<\/p>

As for whether he\u2019ll return to his job at the airport after filming, he added: \u201cYou never know what the future holds. I don\u2019t know what\u2019s going to happen after after the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhatever happens I\u2019m just gonna take it in my stride and just go along with it.\u00a0 So I\u2019m not gonna rule anything out. I\u2019m just going to take each day as it comes really.\u201d<\/p>
