Soap star Jane Danson has discussed her character\u2019s friendship with Damon (Ciar\u00e1n Griffiths) as they\u2019re working at the Viaduct Bistro together.<\/p>\n
Asked whether Leanne is \u201ccharmed\u201d by Damon, Danson admitted she is fascinated by him in a way.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think she looks at his relationship with [his son] Jacob<\/a> and how he seems to have turned over a new leaf,\u201d the actress told RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press.<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s also got quite a lot going on in her life and he\u2019s one of those characters that on the surface is quite a cheeky chappy and loveable, then underneath there\u2019s an undercurrent of badness.\u201d<\/p>\n This all changes once Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) reveals Damon is villain Harvey Gaskell<\/a>\u2018s (Will Mellor) brother. Coronation Street<\/a> fans will recall that Harvey is after Leanne as she\u2019s worked as an informant for the police, landing him behind bars. During a dramatic escape from prison to track her down, Harvey ended up killing Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac) instead.<\/p> Of course, being lied to by Nick will have an impact on Leanne.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter everything they went through with Oliver, then Jacob turning up\u2026 It all came on the back of such a traumatic time and they got through that,\u201d Danson explained.<\/p>\n \u201cThen just when she thought her life was back on track, she\u2019s dealing with her grief and getting over the Harvey situation, this happens. It\u2019s almost like it just comes back to hit her in the face, because of the one person she trusted more than anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n For his part, Damon will try to convince Leanne that he\u2019s \u201cnothing like his brother\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cEven though she\u2019s pretty angry about the whole thing she kind of accepts it, I guess she has no choice,\u201d Danson continued.<\/p>\n While it isn\u2019t clear where the professional and personal relationship between Leanne and Damon will stand after this big reveal, it seems that the foundations of her marriage with Nick will become shaky.<\/p>\n \u201cGoing forward, it will be interesting to see if Nick and Leanne can patch their relationship up.<\/p>\n \u201cShe needs space to work out how she feels because\u2026 she\u2019s not had the chance to digest everything that\u2019s happened.
