Jason Watkins plays a man driven to the brink in Channel 5 drama The Catch<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After his son\u2019s death several years ago, naval officer-turned-fisherman Ed Collier is terrified his daughter Abbie (Poppy Gilbert) is about to exit his life after her new boyfriend Ryan (Aneurin Barnard) enters the picture.<\/p>\n

Ed is suspicious of Ryan\u2019s intentions, but the more he pushes the more he risks losing both Abbie and his wife Claire (Cathy Belton).<\/span><\/p>\n

Ryan\u2019s introduction also coincides with a \u201cdark secret\u201d from Ed\u2019s past threatening to come to the surface and tear his world apart.<\/p>\n

Is Ryan the person taunting Ed? Or is someone else trying to destroy him?<\/p>

The Catch filming location \u2013 where was the Channel 5 drama filmed?<\/strong><\/h2>\n
The Catch is \u201cset against <\/span>the<\/span> hauntingly beautiful coastline of s<\/span>outh-west England\u2019, but the series wasn\u2019t filmed there.<\/span><\/p>\n
Speaking to RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press, Belton revealed that they shot the drama <\/span>in Dublin, \u201caround Bray, north and south of the city\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n
Balbriggan harbour was one of the spots they used, said <\/span>Watkins. \u201cIt\u2019s surprising because you think Dublin is a city but it\u2019s actually sort of a seaside resort in some respects,\u201d he added. \u201cIt\u2019s surrounded by beaches, so when it was extraordinary weather it was 10 degrees hotter than it normally is at that time of year and it was sort of tropical.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u201cYou did feel like you were in a capital city by the seaside, which I think is a really well-kept secret. I <\/span>think most people think that you\u2019d go and have a weekend as a cultural thing but actually when you spread out, there\u2019s the beautiful coastline, so we made the most of that in this.\u201d<\/span><\/p>
