Love Island contestant Haris Namani<\/a> has addressed recent footage which appeared to show him involved in a fist fight prior to entering the reality show\u2019s villa, saying that \u201cit\u2019s not a reflection\u201d of his character.<\/p>\n

The clip, which was obtained by The Sun<\/a> earlier this week, reportedly shows the Love Island star punching someone and shouting, \u201cI\u2019m not a bully,\u201d on a night out in Doncaster last May.<\/p>\n

After being dumped from the villa following the latest public vote, Haris spoke to ITV about the clip, saying in a statement: \u201cI\u2019m devastated that this video has been seen, it\u2019s not a reflection of my character.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not someone that goes looking for fights and I didn\u2019t want to be in that situation. This was a heat of the moment thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said that the video does not show everything that occurred around the fight, adding: \u201cAfterwards we met up and we cleared the air; we\u2019ve shaken hands and we get along now. It\u2019s not something that would happen again.\u201d<\/p>\n

ITV responded to the video<\/a> on Tuesday, with a spokesperson saying: \u201cLanguage and behaviour in the villa is always closely monitored, and islanders are reminded of what we consider acceptable during their time on the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cExtensive duty of care protocols for all islanders includes video training and guidance covering language and behaviour.\u201d<\/p>

Haris left the villa in last night\u2019s episode alongside Anna-May Robey<\/a> after the public were given the chance to vote for their favourite islanders following Sunday night\u2019s show.<\/p>\n

While Tanya Manhenga<\/a>, Tanyel Revan<\/a>, Tom Clare<\/a> and Kai Fagan<\/a> were also up for elimination following the vote, it was down to Australian bombshells\u00a0Jessie Wynter<\/a> and Aaron Waters<\/a> to choose one boy and one girl to be dumped, with them picking Anna-May and Haris.<\/p>\n

On his exit, Haris said that he was \u201cjust getting to know\u201d\u00a0Olivia Hawkins<\/a> before being dumped.<\/p>\n

\u201cStanding up there I did see I was the most vulnerable out of the two lads I was with. Tom\u2019s <\/span>good with Zara, Kai is good with Tanyel,\u201d he said. \u201cWhatever\u2019s meant to be will be.\u201d<\/span><\/p>
