The film sees the Scottish star play airline pilot Brodie Torrance, who must team up with Colter\u2019s accused murderer Louis Gaspare after his plane crash lands on a war-torn island and most of his passengers are taken hostage by violent rebels.<\/p>\n
Ahead of the film\u2019s release, RadioTimes.com<\/a> previewed a tense clip<\/a> that showed Brodie and Louis watching on as the hostages face their captors \u2013 and in an exclusive interview, Butler has revealed that he had to fight to keep this scene in the film.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s actually a moment that I had put in the script \u2013 watching something brutal happening to the passengers by the rebels,\u201d he revealed. \u201cAnd I had a big fight for that scene because the studio said, \u2018No, he\u2019s the hero. He can\u2019t watch this happen. He would have to go and do something about it.’\u201d<\/p>\n But Butler explained to the producers the scene would be much better if he was prevented from intervening by Colter\u2019s character.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Are you kidding me?\u2019,\u201d he said. \u201cYou see the size of this guy, and if he climbs on top of me, that\u2019s awesome! And by the end, I\u2019m furious with him. I could kill him, but then I appreciate, you know what, he\u2019s right. He\u2019s actually using the right strategy.\u201d<\/p> It was only when it came to filming the scene that Butler began to regret sticking to his guns.<\/p>\n \u201cHe kept climbing on top of me and then I\u2019m like, \u2018This was not really the brightest idea,’\u201d he joked. \u201cI don\u2019t know why I fought for this sequence because it\u2019s getting particularly annoying!\u201d<\/p>\n Colter interjected: \u201cI\u2019m glad you fought for it \u2013 that was actually a great moment. I can\u2019t imagine that not happening because it just shows how invested you are in the passengers.
