Comic Relief’s Red Nose has undergone its biggest makeover in history! <\/p>

Red Nose Day 2023 is fast approaching.<\/span><\/p>\n

The hotly-anticipated evening will see <\/span>some of the biggest names from the showbiz world will come together to raise money for <\/span>Comic Relief<\/span><\/a> with a huge evening of comedy, entertainment, music and much more.<\/span><\/p>\n

And now the design of this year\u2019s Red Nose has been revealed<\/a>, <\/span>with the famous Comic Relief look having undergone its \u201cmost dramatic makeover\u201d ever.<\/span><\/p>\n

Several famous faces have been sporting their newly designed charity noses, including Sir Lenny Henry, Britain\u2019s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, Jay Blades, AJ Odudu and children\u2019s author and DJ Greg James.<\/p>\n

James said: \u201cI don\u2019t know if you\u2019ve noticed but the world has been quite sad, particularly over the last three to four years.\u00a0<\/span>So, Red Nose Day is a great reminder to look outward and help somebody else.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This year, the night of TV will be hosted by former Strictly Come Dancing contestant AJ Odudu<\/a>, Joel Dommett<\/a> (who is currently hosting The Masked Singer<\/a>),\u00a0Paddy McGuinness and\u00a0David Tennant<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Red Nose Day will return to screens live on BBC One on <\/span>Friday 17th March.<\/b><\/p>\n

BBC One will broadcast an evening of entertainment featuring a <\/span>\u00a0host of stars, live music, exclusive prizes, comedy and much more.<\/span><\/p>\n

While the full TV schedule is yet to be announced, we do know that Kylie Minogue will appear in a one-off special of <\/span>beloved BBC sitcom <\/span>Ghosts<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019ll also be a\u00a0parody of <\/span>Love Island<\/span><\/a> airing on the evening of Red Nose Day, which will see some unexpected contestants looking for love.<\/span><\/p>\n

Money raised from this year\u2019s events will support people struggling with the cost of living crisis and tackle issues such as mental health problems, food poverty and homelessness.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the new Red Nose for 2023?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Comic Relief\u2019s famous Red Nose has undergone its \u201cmost dramatic makeover\u201d since its first appearance in 1988.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Redesigned by former Apple guru Sir Jony Ive, the new nose is made almost entirely from plant-based materials and begins as a tiny, flat crescent that morphs into a honeycomb paper sphere when opened.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jony Ive said of the redesign: \u201cWe\u2019ve grown up with Comic Relief and are proud to support their remarkable work. This new and seemingly simple Red Nose has been a fabulously complex little object to design and make and has involved our entire team.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cWe hope it brings a little moment of joy to everyone who wears one.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Comic Relief co-founders <\/span>Richard Curtis<\/span> and Sir <\/span>Lenny Henry<\/span> tasked actress and comedian Diane Morgan with making a short film (below) to launch the new product, in which she describes it as \u201cthe most perfect nose in history\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n
