“It would be career madness,” says the BBC sci-fi’s former showrunner. <\/p>

Former Doctor Who<\/a> showrunner Steven Moffat<\/a> has created some of the series\u2019 most iconic episodes and monsters<\/a> \u2013 and now he\u2019s addressed whether he could be back to write any more episodes during Russell T Davies<\/a>\u2018 second reign.<\/p>\n

Moffat \u2013 who\u2019s also known for BBC\u2019s Sherlock and, most recently, the drama Inside Man<\/a> \u2013 previously said it\u2019s too soon for him to follow in Davies\u2019 footsteps and return as showrunner<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a> at the Radio Times Covers Party about the idea of returning to write a few episodes, he didn\u2019t quite<\/em> rule it out.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be career madness, even by my standards, to go back in a junior capacity to a show I used to run,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019d have to be insane to do that\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Is that a twinkle in his eye we see there? We still have hope!<\/p>\n

Moffat has created some of Doctor Who\u2019s most epic monsters, including the Weeping Angels, which have often been voted the scariest monster of all time.<\/p>\n
