Death in Paradise welcomes a brand new character to the island of Saint Marie in the latest episode of the BBC drama.<\/p>\n

Selwyn\u2019s daughter Andrina, who\u00a0he had no idea existed<\/a> until a recent encounter with his former partner Maggie, arrives in the Caribbean to learn more about her \u201croots\u201d.<\/p>\n

But despite her palpable excitement, the police commissioner was dreading the encounter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not sure this is something I want in my life right now,\u201d he previously said to Catherine. \u201cWe\u2019re strangers, the two of us. What answers can I give her when I know nothing about her?\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a> at this week\u2019s Radio Times Covers Party, Don Warrington (Selwyn) said that his character feels \u201cconflicted\u201d about inviting Andrina into his life due to \u201cthe fact that he doesn\u2019t know her. They\u2019ve never met\u2026 and he has a life and it\u2019s difficult in that situation.\u201d<\/p>\n
