Unless you\u2019ve been living under a rock, you should know that Hogwarts Legacy isn\u2019t like the Harry Potter games that have come before. Not only is there no sign of the titular boy wizard, being set in the 19th century, but the gameplay itself is pretty novel for the franchise.<\/p>\n

Hogwarts Legacy is an RPG, and it includes elements associated with the genre \u2013 crafting, XP, and progression through various abilities. And it wouldn\u2019t be an RPG without the ability to deck your character up in the best gear.<\/p>\n

Which gear colour is best in Hogwarts Legacy?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

First, we\u2019ll talk about what the different colours mean. The colour in the square icon, behind the image of the gear, refers to the rarity of the item.<\/p>\n

The starter items have that dark blue that you\u2019re probably very familiar with. The rarest (and probably best) items have an orange background. Going from best to worst, these are the gear colours in Hogwarts Legacy:<\/p>\n

  1. Legendary (Orange)<\/li>\n
  2. Extraordinary (Purple)<\/li>\n
  3. Superb (Light Blue)<\/li>\n
  4. Well-Appointed (Green)<\/li>\n
  5. Standard (Dark Blue)<\/li>\n<\/ol>

    How to get rare gear in Hogwarts Legacy<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Now that you know about the colour codes, you\u2019re probably wondering how to get that rare gear.<\/p>\n

    What you\u2019ll need to do is aim for the side quests that involve puzzles<\/em>. These ones usually reward you with higher quality threads (like the Extraordinary and Legendary gear).<\/p>\n

    Bear in mind that the gear that\u2019s dropped out in the world will be in accordance to the player\u2019s current level. So if you\u2019re just starting out, you\u2019re unlikely to come across a Legendary item! Keep working on side missions and make sure to open every chest you can, and you should gradually assemble a better outfit as you go.<\/p>
