Fans of Death in Paradise<\/a> are likely to still be reeling from the shocking twist in season 12\u2019s penultimate episode, as Neville\u2019s new love interest Sophie Chambers<\/a> was revealed to be a killer, and to have framed him for murder.<\/p>\n

It was a devastating blow for Neville, and with fans having wondered all season whether he might leave the island<\/a>, could this be the reason he decides to call time on his job with the Saint Marie police?<\/p>\n

RadioTimes.com<\/a> spoke exclusively with star Ralf Little about Neville\u2019s reaction to Sophie\u2019s betrayal, which it seems is set to have major ramifications for himself and the team.<\/p>\n

Little said: \u201cEpisode 8 is entirely about Neville desperately trying to come to terms with the betrayal and the emotional fallout from that. And on a professional level, he\u2019s really questioning his own abilities now.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cHe says at some point, \u2018I had a murderer living in my own house and I didn\u2019t see it. I didn\u2019t see any of it coming. I\u2019m supposed to be a detective and I just let it all happen.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cSo he\u2019s really, really beating himself up and he\u2019s really in a bad place and frankly, he\u2019s not even sure anymore if he\u2019s up to the job. And that has ramifications for whether or not he is worthwhile to the team anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n
