Idris Elba is going to some more far-flung places as he returns as DCI John Luther. <\/p>
Across five seasons on the small screen, DCI John Luther never once ventured outside London, but that\u2019s all changing in the spin-off film Luther: The Fallen Sun<\/a>.<\/p>\n While much of the film was indeed shot in the UK capital \u2013 in no fewer than 37 different locations \u2013 fans will also get to see the title character travel out of his home city for the first time.<\/p>\n \u201cWe break out of the gritty streets of London, we take it outside of that a little bit,\u201d star Idris Elba explained in an interview with Empire<\/a> back in November 2022. \u201cAnd that\u2019s great.
