Wood, who played the role of Max Branning between 2006 and 2021, was amongst the notable absentees from Dot Cotton\u2019s funeral<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n Speaking with Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard on Good Morning Britain today (24th February), the actor explained he doesn\u2019t envision a return in the near future \u2013 but didn\u2019t rule out a surprise comeback completely.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019ve kept the door open for me which is nice,\u201d Wood said of the BBC One soap\u2019s producers.<\/p>\n Asked about returning to Walford in the future, he continued: \u201cI don\u2019t think so at the moment, but never say never.<\/p>\n \u201cAn actor\u2019s life is normally different jobs and different characters, so I\u2019m enjoying that at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n It looks as though EastEnders will keep viewers hooked regardless of any big returnees.
