The Players Championship gets underway with tonight\u2019s final match which will see Ali Carter and Shaun Murphy face off for the coveted title.<\/p>\n

Although the tournament has seen a host of top stars compete, including one-year world leader Mark Allen, last night\u2019s second semi-final match saw Murphy beat Kyren Wilson 6-3 to go through to this evening\u2019s\u00a0Players Championship final.<\/p>\n

The week has certainly seen some terrific matches, with Mark Selby, Judd Trump and Robert Milkins in action early in the week.<\/p>\n

Speaking about his semi-final triumph, Murphy said:\u00a0\u201cI thought it was very good (tonight). Kyren didn\u2019t go away and at the end when he smashed his cue on the floor, you can see how desperate he is to win.\u201d<\/p>\n
Similarly, Carter commented that his semi-final match against Joe O\u2019Connor was \u201ca really hard match\u201d, but said of O\u2019Connor: \u201cWhat a great player. He\u2019s going to be around for a while. I had to come up with my best stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cI\u2019m working hard to keep my attitude good. I\u2019m delighted to be in another final. I\u2019ve got my enthusiasm back to work hard.\u201d<\/p>\n
Going into the final, all eyes are on Murphy and Carter to see who will come out on top. Murphy said of the final:\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m going to go for my shots (in the final) and play attractive snooker \u2026 I think he (Ali) goes in tomorrow as favourite because he\u2019s just won a ranking title, and it is my job to keep up with him.\u201d<\/p>\n
