The Love Island host spoke about the show’s slow start this year ahead of the 2021 final. <\/p>

Love Island host Laura Whitmore<\/a> has addressed criticism over the slow start of the ongoing series, saying that it\u2019s turned out to be \u201cthe best year so far\u201d.<\/p>\n

Chatting to Mo Gilligan on The Lateish Show on Friday, Whitmore was asked what she thought of Love Island<\/a> fans complaining about the dull beginning to the series, with the presenter replying: \u201cOh, they say that every year!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIain\u2019s (Stirling) obviously worked on it for years and he says \u2018So week one, they say this. Week one, they say there\u2019s no one as good as the previous year.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Then week two, they start to warm up a little bit. Then week three, they\u2019re kind of getting into it. Then week four, Casa Amor. Bam! Everyone\u2019s into it and they say it\u2019s the best year so far.\u2019 We still have two weeks to go. It\u2019s long.\u201d<\/p>

There\u2019s now just over one week left of the ITV2 reality show until the Love Island 2021 final<\/a> on Monday 23rd August, which will see one couple take home the \u00a350,000 cash prize.<\/p>\n

With 14 Love Island 2021 contestants<\/a> left in the villa, we\u2019re bound to see some dumpings over the next week as the Love Island 2021 couples<\/a> either go the distance or fall at the last hurdle.<\/p>\n

Last week saw three new bombshells enter the villa \u2013 Aaron Simpson<\/a>, Priya Gopaldas<\/a> and Brett Staniland<\/a> \u2013 while Matthew MacNabb, Abigail Rawlings<\/a> and Dale Mehmet were sent home by their fellow islanders.<\/p>\n
