Keira Knightley won\u2019t be making a return to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise any time soon, after responding to rumours that have circulated in light of Jerry Bruckheimer\u2019s recent comments about bringing back the saga.<\/p>\n

Talking on the red carpet of her new film Boston Strangler<\/a> this week to Entertainment Tonight<\/a>, Knightley repeated the phrase \u201cWhat about Elizabeth Swan?\u201d and said: \u201cI mean, she sailed away so nicely. She sailed away in brilliant style.\u201d<\/p>

The franchise\u2019s first film celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and when asked to recall any memories of the initial release, Knightley said that she doesn\u2019t remember \u201cvery much\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt sort of launched me out of a rocket, really, as far as my career went,\u201d she said. \u201cThat year was Bend It Like Beckham,\u00a0Love Actually\u00a0and\u00a0Pirates of the Caribbean.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cSo, I\u2019m being asked about all three. Unfortunately, I was 16 and 17. so I\u00a0don\u2019t really remember very much of it,\u00a0but yes, it certainly was a very big year for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Hollywood star seems content to let her character Elizabeth Swann go, but the opposite is true for Pirates of the Caribbean producer Bruckheimer. Speaking at last week\u2019s Academy Awards, he revealed: \u201cWe\u2019re all working on it [the next\u00a0Pirates\u00a0<\/em>film]. We\u2019ll see how it comes out. We\u2019re very excited, I think we\u2019re gonna have a great screenplay when, and we\u2019re getting close.\u201d<\/p>\n
