With the first season of crime drama The Gold<\/a> set to air its finale on BBC One this Sunday, it has been reported that there is a second season of the show in the works.<\/p>\n

The Sun<\/a> has reported that the series, which told the story of the aftermath of the Brink\u2019s-Mat gold heist in 1983, will explore \u201ceven more characters involved in the original crime\u201d in a second season.<\/p>\n

The publication also reported that the next season is likely to explore the life of Charlie Wilson, who was involved in laundering proceeds from the stolen gold, as well as the further crimes of Kenneth Noye, played by Jack Lowden<\/a>, and John Palmer, played by Tom Cullen.<\/p>\n

The Gold features a mixture of stars playing real-life figures<\/a>, such as Hugh Bonneville as Brian Boyce, and those playing fictional or composite characters.<\/p>\n
