The football pundit refused to present Match of the Day earlier this month after Gary Lineker’s temporary suspension. <\/p>

Alan Shearer has spoken of Gary Lineker\u2019s \u201cdifficult\u201d absence from Match of the Day<\/a> following the presenter\u2019s return to the show.<\/p>\n

Lineker was temporarily removed from the BBC show earlier this month after being accused of breaching BBC impartiality guidelines with a tweet criticising Home Secretary Suella Braverman\u2019s new immigration policy.<\/p>\n

On Monday however, BBC director-general Tim Davie apologised for the \u201cdifficult period\u201d and re-instated Lineker, explaining that\u00a0the dispute had been resolved<\/a>. He also outlined that a review of the BBC\u2019s existing social media guidance would be carried out by an independent expert.<\/p>\n
