Iko Uwais and \u00darsula Corber\u00f3 chatted to RadioTimes.com about the brand new movie. <\/p>
The latest film in the G.I Joe franchise, Snake Eyes<\/a>, is released in UK cinemas this week and, according to two of its stars, audiences should expect something very different from the previous two G.I. Joe films.<\/p>\n Serving as an origin story for the title character, the film explains how he became the mysterious ninja special ops agent that appears in the other movies, as he learns skills from the ancient Arashikage clan.<\/p>\n It also essentially serves as a reboot of the franchise, moving the films in a rather different direction with a new focus on martial arts.<\/p> Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, star Iko Uwais \u2013 who plays formidable Arashikage mentor Hard Master \u2013 said, \u201cIt\u2019s gonna be great. It\u2019s gonna be more intense. It\u2019s a different type of action move \u2013 this is more like a martial arts movie right?<\/p>\n \u201cEvery single character, every single actor and actress, they can move, they can fight even if they don\u2019t have the background for martial arts.\u201d<\/p>\n One of those actresses who didn\u2019t have a background in martial arts is Money Heist<\/a> star \u00darsula Corber\u00f3, who plays the Baroness \u2013 a character previously played by Sienna Miller in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.<\/p>\n And Corber\u00f3 explained that there was lots of training required to pull off some of the more elaborate stunts \u2013 especially given her complete lack of experience to begin with.<\/p>\n \u201cI really enjoyed the rehearsals with Samara [Weaving],\u201d she said. \u201cBecause I remember we had this huge action choreography. And I remember when we started doing the rehearsals we were so clumsy, it was really funny.\u201d<\/p>\n And Corber\u00f3 agrees with Uwais that the new film has little in common with the previous G.I. Joe movies.<\/p>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s a very different movie,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd it has nothing to do with the previous movies about G.I. Joe.
