Chatting exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a> about John Wick: Chapter 4<\/a>, when asked about the spin-off series, McShane said: \u201cI have no idea about that TV show. They never asked us what our background was, they\u2019ve never asked us about the characters. So I\u2019ve no idea what they\u2019re doing on the TV show.\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201cI\u2019ve not a clue what that\u2019s about in any way, shape, or form.\u201d<\/p> The Continental will tell the story of how Ian McShane\u2019s Winston Scott (who will be played in the show by Colin Woodell) came to be the proprietor of the hotel in the \u201970s. McShane did reveal, though, that prior to co-star Lance Reddick\u2019s tragic passing<\/a> last week, he and Reddick had come up with their own versions for Winston and Charon\u2019s backgrounds.<\/p>\n Reddick died of natural causes earlier this month and starred as Charon, The Continental\u2019s concierge, throughout all four John Wick films. He is also slated to appear posthumously in the upcoming spin-off movie Ballerina, which will see Ana de Armas take the lead role as Rooney.<\/p>\n Speaking about how he and Reddick had thought of their characters\u2019 backstories, McShane told RadioTimes.com<\/strong>: \u201cLance Reddick and I worked all that out \u2013 the sort of backstory they have, where I think Winston was working in Africa in the late \u201950s or early \u201960s as some kind of MI6\/CIA operative and then brought Charon with him.<\/p>\n \u201cSo we have that as our sort of [backstory] and we both like John \u2013\u00a0he\u2019s our favourite assassin.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Talking about its place in the John Wick universe, McShane also revealed more about the Ballerina spin-off film, saying:\u00a0\u201cBallerina was written I think as a one-off script and then they wanted to incorporate it into this world \u2013 because [screenwriter] Shay Hatten has written before, he wrote special stuff for Chapter 3.<\/p>\n \u201cSo Shay knows the world, and they wanted to incorporate it within the John Wick franchise.\u201d<\/p> ![\"""\"](\""https:\/\/images.immediate.co.uk\/production\/volatile\/sites\/3\/2023\/03\/John-Wick-Chapter-4-9c0c8cc.jpg?quality=90&resize=620%2C413"\" "\\"\"\"\\"\/")
