Ncuti will take over the TARDIS soon. <\/p>
BBC\u2019s Chief Content Officer Charlotte Moore has praised RadioTimes.com\u2019s TV 100<\/a> winner, Ncuti Gatwa, while also dropping a tantalising teaser of what we can expect from the star\u2019s 2023 debut on Doctor Who<\/a>.<\/p>\n Gatwa will take over the reins of the TARDIS in the coming months and has been recently spotted filming in Wales with new companion Ruby Sunday (played by Millie Gibson).<\/p>\n Commending Gatwa on his TV 100 placement, Moore told RadioTimes.com<\/a>: \u201cNcuti has an incredible dynamism. He\u2019s a striking and fearless actor whose talent and energy are boundless.\u201d<\/p>\n Teasing what\u2019s to come, she added: \u201cFrom what I\u2019ve seen so far \u2013 no spoilers \u2013 he\u2019s going to set the world alight and take Doctor Who on extraordinary adventures when he takes charge of the TARDIS.\u201d<\/p> Gatwa\u2019s casting was announced on 8th May 2022, becoming Jodie Whittaker\u2019s successor on the long-running sci-fi.<\/p>\n Speaking at the time of his casting, Gatwa said: \u201cThere aren\u2019t quite the words to describe how I\u2019m feeling. A mix of deeply honoured, beyond excited and of course a little bit scared.<\/p>\n \u201cThis role and show means so much to so many around the world, including myself, and each one of my incredibly talented predecessors has handled that unique responsibility and privilege with the utmost care.
