Buckley isn’t the first Inbetweeners star to rule out a return. <\/p>

The Inbetweeners star James Buckley has ruled out a revival for the hit Channel 4 comedy. <\/span><\/p>\n

Buckley, who played Jay in the hit comedy, spoke to RadioTimes.com<\/a> at the BAFTA Games Awards 2023<\/a> about the potential of bringing back the show. <\/span><\/p>\n

When asked about Simon Bird\u2019s recent admission that a revival would be \u201csad and creepy\u201d<\/a>, Buckley said he wouldn\u2019t want to return to the comedy either.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNo, it would be [sad and creepy],\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, no, I think\u2026 see, the thing is, I think we all are on the same page with The Inbetweeners. In that, I think if we could have all stayed 19 forever, and if it would still be funny, we would have done it forever. It was the best job in the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cThey\u2019re my mates and I love being with them. And all we did was make each other laugh the whole time we were doing it. But it\u2019s sad and pathetic, you know? I think one of the boys, I think Joe Thomas, is 40 this year. It\u2019s, no\u2026 it\u2019s not good, is it?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Talking about his upcoming projects, he added:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cI\u2019m doing some acting, in a couple of weeks time I start\u2026 it\u2019s like a drama. I don\u2019t want to say too much about it. I might be awful at it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cI\u2019ve mainly just stuck to comedy because that\u2019s where I feel comfortable, but an opportunity has come up to do a four-part drama. I just don\u2019t think anyone\u2019s going to be able to take it seriously. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI think even when I\u2019m trying to be serious people are going to be laughing at me. I think they\u2019ll just find it hilarious. So we\u2019ll see what happens with that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
