The fourth season of Succession<\/a> is upon us and it\u2019s a bittersweet moment given that it will be the final ever instalment of the show, but star Matthew Macfadyen<\/a> has assured fans that the ending \u201cworks\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n Macfadyen, who plays spiteful business executive <\/span>Tom Wambsgans<\/span><\/a> on the HBO show, spoke to <\/span>The Hollywood Reporter<\/span><\/a> about the HBO show\u2019s imminent conclusion.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt was sort of awful,\u201d he said of bidding farewell to the show. \u201cBut I will say that I think it\u2019s a good ending. I think it works.\u201d<\/span><\/p> Macfadyen isn\u2019t the first to speak out about\u00a0the hotly-anticipated season 4 finale<\/span>, with\u00a0Succession creator Jesse Armstrong previously revealing new details.<\/span><\/p>\n Succession was renewed for a fourth season in October 2021, and speaking at the UK premiere for season 4, Armstrong assured fans that the end will be a surprise<\/a>.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cI think in the end, we just thought, when we looked at the different shapes, and when people see this season, I think you\u2019ll feel that it feels both hopefully a bit surprising, but also kind of natural.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s what we want, it [to] feel natural, the end of this season, when you see it, I think.\u201d<\/p>
