The actress first joined the show in 2011 and has tackled some challenging storylines, including teenage pregnancy, early menopause<\/a> and suffering a stint in prison after attacking Adam Barlow.<\/span><\/p>\n However, the character\u2019s time on the cobbles is set to come to an end later this year, with Leach\u2019s final scenes set to air in July, <\/span>The Sun<\/span><\/a> reports.<\/span><\/p>\n According to the report, Leach has decided to leave Coronation Street<\/a> to pursue other opportunities elsewhere.<\/span><\/p> \u201cEllie\u2019s been on the <\/span>soap<\/span> since she was 10 years old so it\u2019s all she\u2019s known, she sees the cast like an extension of her family,\u201d a source told the publication.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s sad to be leaving, but grateful that her character won\u2019t be killed off. She\u2019s going to have a go at trying other acting roles for a bit.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n ITV declined to comment when approached by RadioTimes.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n The character is currently involved in a storyline that has seen her reconnect with her daughter, Miley, who went to live with her father Jackson Hodges in Canada after Faye decided she wasn\u2019t ready to parent at 15.<\/span><\/p>\n The eight-year-old, who is now played by Frankie-Jae Simmonds, returned to the cobbles in March 2023, <\/span>after Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) arranged a secret meeting behind Faye\u2019s back.<\/span><\/p>\n Ellie recently explained how revisiting the storyline made her reflect on her time on the soap, revealing:<\/span>\u00a0\u201cI feel like I don\u2019t realise until I say it out loud!<\/span> I have been in Coronation Street for twelve years but it literally feels like I started yesterday. Twelve years! That\u2019s like, over half my life!
