MC Grindah and co. are jetting off to Japan for their first big-screen adventure \u2013\u00a0but is this the end for Kurupt FM? <\/p>
After five series of People Just Do Nothing, Kurupt FM are preparing to make their big-screen debut this week, with MC Grindah and co. jetting off to Japan as they aim to go global.<\/p>\n
And despite previous suggestions that the film might mark the swansong for the pirate radio station, it seems that the stars could be up for revisiting their characters a few years down the line.<\/p>
\u201cIt\u2019s funny because we did say that we just wanted to end it, but [Alan] Partridge is a great reference,\u201d Allan \u2018Seapa\u2019 Mustafa (Grindah) explained to RadioTimes.com<\/a>. \u201cBecause that would make sense \u2013 that\u2019s something that could go off for like, years, and then come back\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n And Mustafa and DJ Beats star Hugo Chegwin had a few ideas for ways in which the characters could return in different forms in the future.<\/p>\n \u201cYeah like Beats and Grindah Investigate,\u201d Chegwin said, before Mustafa joked, \u201cOr Beats and Grindah Go Dogging!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBut that\u2019s you know, maybe in the future,\u201d Mustafa added. \u201cBut for now, I think it\u2019s nice; the film\u2019s the icing on the cake. We\u2019ve put a lot of stuff out there for people to live with and those characters will never die. You know, it\u2019s there. So yeah, who knows in the future?\u201d<\/p>\n\n Co-stars Steve Stamp (DJ Steves) and Asim Chaudhry (Chabuddy G) also suggested there was the possibility of further exploits for the Kurupt boys, and similarly used Alan Partridge as a reference point.<\/p>\n \u201cNo one dies \u2013 spoiler alert,\u201d Stamp said. \u201cSo it\u2019s kind of open to more adventures and it\u2019s just finding the right way to use these characters.<\/p>\n \u201cI guess we don\u2019t what to sort of outstay our welcome, and we don\u2019t want to do anything that\u2019s not for the right reasons, but we love playing the characters. It\u2019s the most fun job in the world. So it\u2019s always tempting to dip back into it somehow.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I think Coogan and Partridge is like \u2013 that\u2019s a great example,\u201d Chaudhry added. \u201cBecause I think what he\u2019s done is that he\u2019s always taken his time with it. It\u2019s not like every year you get a new Partridge project, but when it\u2019s right, and it feels right, he does it.<\/p>\n \u201cSo I think, for us, that would be the same thing. You just have to treat them with respect.
