Tonight\u2019s Emmerdale<\/a> (6th April) delivered an almighty twist \u2013 that Nicky (played by Lewis Cope) is Caleb\u2019s (William Ash) son!<\/p>\n

But there was another shock in store, as Caleb has also been revealed to be the son of Frank Tate (Norman Bowler), meaning we now have a Dingle-Tate clash on our hands as the estranged son fights for Home Farm, a place he believes is rightfully his.<\/p>\n

Emmerdale fans will recognise these two bombshells are set to have an explosive impact \u2013 with Caleb and Nicky getting even closer to Home Farm, they\u2019ll definitely have a fight on their hands from Kim\u2026<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what Ash and Cope had to say to press including RadioTimes.com<\/a> about the dramatic Emmerdale reveal.<\/p>

The big reveal happened in tonight\u2019s episode! How\u00a0does\u00a0it feel now it\u2019s all out there?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Will\u00a0Ash:<\/strong> \u201cIt\u2019s nice to have their big secret out in the open. There\u2019s been a lot of people speculating, even people coming up to me in the street and asking, \u2018What\u2019s Caleb up to?\u2019 and \u2018Why is he in the village?\u2019 It\u2019s good for that part of the story to be out there, great for the audience so they don\u2019t start losing interest in that thread.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lewis Cope:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cBut it\u2019s almost just the start too. Finding out that Caleb and Nicky are related. But why are they there? What are they up to? Do they succeed? How\u00a0does\u00a0it end? That\u2019s all going to be really exciting stuff too!\u201d<\/p>\n

WA:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019ve started to film some of the scenes of us working together, where you find out more details, and they\u2019ve been great for us to play. We haven\u2019t had many scenes together before because of the nature of the story and so now it\u2019s brilliant to start this new chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n

LC: \u201c<\/strong>Yes, you start to see the reasons why they are in the village, then you start seeing the relationship between the two of them and how they live, which\u00a0is\u00a0really interesting.\u201d<\/p>\n

WA<\/strong>: \u201cThe audience\u00a0will\u00a0start to see more layers to them and little secrets that they\u2019ve got\u00a0which adds complexity to their relationship. That\u2019s been really fun to play.\u201d<\/p>\n

WA<\/strong>: \u201cI did! I knew that Frank Tate was Caleb\u2019s dad and Faith his mum. Plus I knew that Caleb\u2019s son had got a job at Home Farm which Caleb had pushed him to do to place him in that world to find out as much as possible about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

LC:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cI thought I was coming in as a love interest to Gabby, it was further down the line I got the scripts and it started to reveal itself for me. It was a nice surprise as I wasn\u2019t preempting anything, I could just look at what was on the script and make that work.\u201d<\/p>\n

So Tate vs Dingles this is set to be explosive!<\/strong><\/p>\n

WA: \u201c<\/strong>It could be a bit of a burden for them both as there\u2019s a foot in both families. It\u2019s really clever that they\u2019ve used that device to see how much disruption these characters can cause. There\u2019s always been that clash between the Tates and the Dingles but it will really ramp it up now! It\u2019s really big what Caleb and Nicky are attempting to do, so there are a lot of fireworks ready to go off.\u201d<\/p>\n
