Across five seasons of People Just Do Nothing, Kurupt FM established themselves as the most notorious pirate radio station in all of Brentford \u2013 and now the boys are set to go global.<\/p>\n

In their first big-screen adventure \u2013 which arrives in UK cinemas this week \u2013 MC Grindah, DJ Beats, and the rest of the gang are jetting off to Japan after news arrives that their song Heart Monitor Riddem (Bang! Lyrical Blow to the Jaw) has been used in a popular game show.<\/p>\n

A trailer for the film was first released back in May, teasing what looks like a hilarious adventure as Grindah and the gang aim to land a record deal while struggling to adjust to a very different culture.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou gotta go where the music takes you,\u201d says DJ Beats. \u201cBrentford, Ipswich\u2026 and now Japan!\u201d<\/p>\n

And according to the film\u2019s stars, People Just Do Nothing: Big in Japan might not be the last we see of Kurupt FM<\/a> just yet, with the cast teasing that we could see them return to the characters a few years down the line.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love playing the characters, it\u2019s the most fun job in the world. So like, it\u2019s always tempting to dip back into it somehow,\u201d said Steve Stamp.<\/p>\n

The film is released in UK cinemas on Wednesday 18th August 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In May 2021, the first trailer was released for the film \u2013 and it looks like Grindah and co have not lost anything in ambition since their pirate radio station was closed down. You can watch it in full below.<\/p>\n\n

People Just Do Nothing: Big in Japan cast<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The good news for fans of the TV series is that all the major stars are back for the film. That means that Allan Mustafa reprises his role as Kurupt\u2019s head honcho MC Grindah, Hugo Chegwin returns as cofounder DJ Beats and Asim Chaudhry is back as ambitious entrepreneur and Kurupt\u2019s manager Chabuddy G.<\/p>\n

Steve Stamp and Dan Sylvester are also both back as remaining Kurrupt members Steves and Decoy, while Lily Brazier returns as Grindah\u2019s wife Miche.<\/p>\n

And of course, there are some new cast members as well \u2013 with Japanese stars Ken Yamamura (Godzilla, Black Mirror) and Hitomi Souno playing characters called Taka and Miki.<\/p>

People Just Do Nothing: Big in Japan plot<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The film picks up with the Kurupt FM boys after their pirate radio station has closed down, and at first, life seems much quieter.<\/p>\n

But that all changes when they hear that one of their songs has somehow made it onto the soundtrack of a popular Japanese game show \u2013 and their music is therefore reaching an audience of millions.<\/p>\n

Naturally, the boys assume this means superstardom must await and so they travel to Japan with manager Chabuddy G in tow, desperate to secure a record deal at any cost.<\/p>\n

Of course, it won\u2019t be that easy \u2013 and it looks like there could be something of a culture clash in-store for Kurupt FM when they make the journey.<\/p>\n
