Much of BGT will look the same, from the talent on the London and Manchester stages to the return of hosts Ant and Dec, but there have been a couple of changes.<\/p>\n
There will be more Golden Buzzers than ever before on this year\u2019s show, as revealed by judge Simon Cowell<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have eight,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t want to give too much away but there was one Golden Buzzer moment. I think in all the years, I\u2019ve done this show because, you know, it wasn\u2019t really supposed to happen because we run out [of buzzers].<\/p>\n \u201cIt was kind of chaotic at this moment because the audience really dictated it, they did not let this go [for this act]. They\u2019re not going to leave. So we kind of said you know what, why don\u2019t we just give the audience a Golden Buzzer.\u201d<\/p>\n But the biggest change is the arrival of new judge, Strictly Come Dancing\u2019s Bruno Tonioli<\/a>, who will be deciding the contestants\u2019 fate alongside Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden.<\/p>\n He has replaced Little Britain actor David Walliams, who joined the show in 2012 and would seemingly be part of the furniture forever. But that all changed following a controversy that made headlines up and down the country.<\/p>\n Read on for a full rundown about why Walliams is no longer a judge on BGT.<\/p> While David Walliams had been on the Britain\u2019s Got Talent panel since 2012, it was confirmed that he would not be back for this year\u2019s episodes.<\/p>\n Walliams hit the headlines last year after \u201cinappropriate\u201d remarks<\/a> he had made about contestants came to light.<\/p>\n In November 2022, The Guardian<\/a> reported that Walliams had referred to one Britain\u2019s Got Talent contestant as a \u201cc**t\u201d and said about another, \u201cshe thinks you want to f**k her, but you don\u2019t\u201d, during breaks in filming Britain\u2019s Got Talent\u2019s 2020 season.<\/p>\n Walliams apologised for the \u201cdisrespectful comments\u201d in a statement to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, saying: \u201cI would like to apologise to the people I made disrespectful comments about during breaks in filming for Britain\u2019s Got Talent in 2020.<\/p>\n \u201cThese were private conversations and \u2013 like most conversations with friends \u2013 were never intended to be shared. Nevertheless, I am sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n At the time, a spokesperson for BGT\u2019s production company Thames said that the language used was \u201cinappropriate\u201d and that \u201cthose involved have been spoken to and reminded of their responsibilities and the show\u2019s expectations as to future professional conduct\u201d, while Simon Cowell added: \u201cBritain\u2019s Got Talent is a family show and we do not condone the use of any such language.\u201d<\/p>\n While Walliams never officially announced his departure from Britain\u2019s Got Talent, The Sun<\/a> reported later that month that the comedian was set to quit the show and would not be featuring in the new season \u2013 however, a source told RadioTimes.com<\/strong> that no decision had been made on the judging panel<\/a> at that time.<\/p>\n In January 2023, ITV confirmed that David Walliams would not be returning to Britain\u2019s Got Talent by announcing the new judging panel, consisting of Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and new face Bruno Tonioli.<\/p>\n In January this year, ITV revealed that Strictly Come Dancing\u2019s<\/a> Bruno Tonioli would be replacing David Walliams on Britain\u2019s Got Talent.<\/p>\n The entertainer and dancer said in a statement: \u201cHere we are, Britain\u2019s Got Talent. I am so excited.
