From Diversity to Susan Boyle, ITV\u2019s Britain\u2019s Got Talent has provided a platform for some of the world\u2019s best entertainment acts during its 15-year run. And it\u2019s time to do it all over again when the show returns to our screens this weekend.<\/p>\n

The contestants will take to the stage in either London or Manchester in the hope of making their mark (for all of the right reasons) on the judges and the audience. Over the years, we\u2019ve seen an array of talent, from singers and dancers to comedians, pet performers, knife-throwers and more magicians than you could shake a stick at. And there have been a fair few unusual and hair-raising moments along the way, too. The less said about those, the better.<\/p>\n

But while the show continues to follow its tried-and-tested format, there has been a shake-up when it comes to the judges, with former Strictly Come Dancing\u2019s Bruno Tonioli sitting in David Walliams\u2019s chair following the Little Britain actor\u2019s exit.<\/a><\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio Times Magazine<\/a>, Tonioli revealed what it was like joining the series: \u201cI had a ball, partly because I had never seen it before. It\u2019s true! Simon has teased me to death about it. I didn\u2019t even watch Strictly \u2013 I don\u2019t watch shows that have a judging panel because I don\u2019t want to be influenced by another judge. I just want to do my own thing. But I had the best time.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a proper variety show and the range of talent is incredible. Some of the contestants are absolutely demented, I have to say.\u201d<\/p>

Tonioli was also asked if he puts on an act himself when he\u2019s sat on the judging panel: \u201cObviously when you\u2019re on screen, you can\u2019t sit there looking bored. You have to give the viewers a show. You have to entertain them, so I crank up my delivery and become a larger-than-life persona. I draw on my years of experience working with the likes of Elton John and Steve Coogan. I\u2019ve done my homework.\u201d<\/p>\n

Britain\u2019s Got Talent 2023 release date<\/strong><\/h2>\n

BGT is back with a double bill this weekend, with the show kicking off on Saturday 15th April at 8pm on ITV1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The 2023 season will continue on Sunday 16th, but at the slightly earlier time of\u00a07:45pm<\/strong> for an hour and a quarter.<\/p>\n

Long-time judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon will be back for this year\u2019s panel, but they\u2019ll be joined by a brand new face.<\/p>\n

Strictly Come Dancing\u2019s Bruno Tonioli is joining the judges for season 16 after David Walliams\u2019s departure from the show<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The comedian, who had been a judge on Britain\u2019s Got Talent since 2012, was warned earlier this year for \u201cinappropriate\u201d remarks he made about contestants<\/a> back in 2020. He apologised for his remarks, adding: \u201cThese were private conversations and \u2013 like most conversations with friends \u2013 were never intended to be shared. Nevertheless, I am sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n

On joining Britain\u2019s Got Talent, Tonioli said<\/a>: \u201cHere we are, Britain\u2019s Got Talent. I am so excited. It\u2019s my first show, I have no idea what\u2019s going to happen, but I\u2019m sure it\u2019s going to be brilliant.\u201d<\/p>\n

And the BGT studio audience will also have a bigger part to play this year after being given a Golden Buzzer of their own.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were more Golden Buzzers this year,\u201d said Cowell<\/a>. \u201cWe have eight. I don\u2019t want to give too much away but there was one Golden Buzzer moment. I think in all the years, I\u2019ve done this show because, you know, it wasn\u2019t really supposed to happen because we run out [of buzzers].\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was kind of chaotic at this moment because the audience really dictated it, they did not let this go [for this act]. They\u2019re not going to leave. So we kind of said you know what, why don\u2019t we just give the audience a Golden Buzzer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Britain\u2019s Got Talent 2023 hosts<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Britain\u2019s Got Talent will be hosted once again by Ant & Dec, who\u2019ve been at the helm of the show since it first began in 2007.<\/p>\n

The duo are best known for presenting Ant & Dec\u2019s Saturday Night Takeaway, I\u2019m a Celebrity\u2026 Get Me Out of Here, Limitless Win and previous titles like SMTV Live, Pop Idol, Red or Black? and Text Santa.<\/p>\n

Who are the Britain\u2019s Got Talent 2023 contestants?<\/strong><\/h2>\n
We don\u2019t know much about the season 16 contestants, however ITV has teased that the show is set to be \u201cbigger and better than ever before\u201d with \u201cjaw-dropping acts\u201d and, as mentioned, \u201cmore golden buzzer moments than any season yet\u201d.<\/div>\n

Auditions were held in both London and Manchester for the first time since the pandemic, so viewers can expect the calibre of talent this year to be \u201cthe best the competition has ever seen\u201d.<\/p>\n

Who was the Britain\u2019s Got Talent 2022 winner?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Last year\u2019s season of BGT was won by Axel Blake, a comedian from West London who\u2019d previously worked as a property maintenance manager.<\/p>\n

He made it through to the live shows after receiving the Golden Buzzer from judge Simon Cowell.<\/p>\n
