Chloe Harris (played by Jessie Elland) has been going through a tough time on Emmerdale recently \u2013 and it doesn\u2019t seem like the drama will end any time soon.<\/p>\n

The youngster just gave birth to her first child, Reuben, last week on the ITV soap and has so far managed to keep the identity of the baby\u2019s father a secret \u2013 though viewers know it\u2019s Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb).<\/p>\n

But in the coming weeks on Emmerdale<\/a>, poor Reuben will go through a health crisis, developing bacterial meningitis, prompting Mack to worry about his little one.<\/p>\n

Speaking to press including RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Elland explained that the condition is very serious. \u201cIt escalates quite quickly and that exacerbates it for her [Chloe] because she\u2019s not allowed to be there with him. It\u2019s very serious and she\u2019s terrified.<\/p>

\u201cOne of the reasons she wanted to go ahead with the pregnancy was her chance to have her own family and someone that\u2019s always going to be there for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chloe is so tied up with what\u2019s happening to her son that she doesn\u2019t have much time to worry about Mack or how he\u2019s coping.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe doesn\u2019t really want to get Mack involved because she\u2019s seen he\u2019s not super subtle and she\u2019s feeling guilty about Charity and Sarah. But once it gets going she\u2019s so overwhelmed and doesn\u2019t really have the opportunity to think about him,\u201d the actor continued.<\/p>
