Netflix<\/a>\u2018s latest political thriller The Diplomat<\/a> has come to a dramatic end.<\/p>\n

The series follows Kate Wyler (Keri Russel) as she takes on the unexpected role as US ambassador to the UK and is tasked with making alliances and defuse international crises, while also trying to manage her personal life and marriage to political star and fellow diplomat Hal (Rufus Sewell).<\/span><\/p>\n

The ending of the show<\/a> leaves the fates of Kate and Hal completely up in the air, leaving viewers clamouring for a second season to tie up all the loose ends.<\/p>\n

Netflix hasn\u2019t yet confirmed whether The Diplomat will be back for another season or not, but based on the shocking cliffhanger to season 1, it would certainly seem as though the intention is there to make more.<\/p>\n

The final episode saw Kate and Austin realise that Prime Minister Nicol Trowbridge had been behind the bombing of the HMS Courageous, having employed the services of Russian mercenary Lenkov, seemingly so as to boost his poll numbers and avoid the break-up of the UK.<\/p>\n

It was a blockbuster reveal which was also matched by the series leaving Hal and Stuart\u2019s fates in the balance, as they were caught up in the apparent assassination of a Conservative MP.<\/p>
