Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is packed full of side missions, collectables, and a plethora of stuff to do besides the main story. One of the most difficult of these is fighting the legendary monsters.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s understandable if you want to skip this one, but it\u2019s an absolute must for those who want a challenge. They\u2019re tough as nails, and one of the earliest legendary creatures you\u2019ll come across is the Rancor.<\/p>\n

The Rancor is a legendary creature in more ways than one. It actually appeared in the original Star Wars trilogy \u2013 in 1983\u2019s Return of the Jedi \u2013 when it did battle with Luke Skywalker in Jabba the Hut\u2019s lair. What better reason to fight it, then? Everyone wants to channel their inner Luke.<\/p>

You can actually fight the Rancor\u00a0very<\/em> early on in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor<\/a>, as part of the Missing Prospectors quest on Koboh. However, it\u2019s very difficult at that point and we\u2019re guessing you won\u2019t be quite ready. Give it a go if you want, but we recommend coming back a wee bit later.<\/p>\n

How to beat the Rancor in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Check out the video from YouTube channel <a href=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dns5vYCp7jY&source_ve_path=Mjg2NjY&feature=emb_logo"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""noopener" noopener noreferrer\">Fextralife<\/a> for a visual accompaniment if you fancy, or follow our guide below.<\/p>\n<p>First things first, you need to find the Rancor. As we\u2019ve said, you can find him during the Missing Prospectors quest. Otherwise, you can head back to the same cave whenever you\u2019re ready. It\u2019s near the start of the game, by the Rambler\u2019s Reach Meditation point.<\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019re face to face with the creature itself, take a deep breath and channel your inner Yoda. You\u2019ll need to be both calm and focused, because there are attacks that can kill you instantly.<\/p>\n<p>One such attack is his pick-up, in which he\u2019ll munch you down and it\u2019s game over. When he charges in to do this, make sure you <em>dodge<\/em> and not\u00a0<em>jump<\/em>. However, when he uses his long range shockwave, it\u2019s best to double jump rather than dodge. And when you\u2019re close, he might use a spin attack \u2013 this one <em>can<\/em> be parried. Do be careful when you\u2019re close, though!<\/p>\n<p>You should get used to manoeuvring around his attacks after a while. When you find yourself behind him after a dodge (or for any other reason), attack a few times but don\u2019t get greedy. You\u2019re better off safe than sorry with his powerful attacks.<\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve beaten the Rancor, you\u2019ll be rewarded with the Shatter perk.
