Yellowstone season 5 has now debuted on Paramount Plus. <\/p>

Yellowstone fans, assemble: the hit Western series is returning to our screens this summer for what could be the final time<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The first part of the fifth season arrived on\u00a0Paramount Plus<\/a>\u00a0at the end of\u00a02022 with eight episodes, and fans have been waiting with bated breath for the second instalment.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, according to Deadline<\/a>, it could be the show\u2019s last, following scheduling conflicts with the show\u2019s star Kevin Costner.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s still plenty to look forward to of course, with\u00a0prequels <\/span>1883<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>1923<\/span><\/a>\u00a0on the horizon, as well a Matthew McConaughey-led series, which has now been confirmed after months of speculation, and will move forward regardless of whether Costner decides to return to the main series.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Season 5 will be supersized beyond the usual 10 episodes, comprising 14 episodes which will air in two parts.<\/p>\n

Season 5 part 2 is set to land in the <\/span>summer of 2023<\/b> but sadly,\u00a0there isn\u2019t an exact release date yet.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first set of seven episodes started airing on The Paramount Network on Sunday 13th November 2022 in the US, while in the UK the series started airing new episodes on Monday 14th November 2022 on Paramount Plus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Of course, beyond the core series<\/a>, Yellowstone fans also have plenty more to look forward to \u2013 the show\u2019s first spin-off 1883<\/a> is available on Paramount Plus now, while another spin-off 1923 is also on the way later this year.<\/p>\n

Those who saw the last few episodes of Yellowstone season 4 will be aware that not everyone in the cast will be returning for season 5.<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s bad news for Sheriff Donnie Haskell (Hugh Dillon) and Garrett Randall (Will Patton), luckily it\u2019s good news for almost everyone else.<\/p>\n

In season 5, Kevin Costner returns as John Dutton, the head of the family and the ranch\u2019s long-suffering protector, while other family members also reprise their key roles, including Kelly Reilly (Britannia<\/a>) as John\u2019s daughter, Beth, a ruthless financier who struggles with substance abuse issues.<\/p>\n

Luke Grimes has also returned as John\u2019s youngest son, Kayce, while the cast is rounded out by Wes Bentley as Jamie Dutton, Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler, Kelsey Asbille as Monica Long Dutton, Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton and Gil Birmingham as Chief Thomas Rainwater.<\/p>\n

Forrie J Smith also returns as Lloyd Pierce, as does Denim Richards as Colby Mayfield, Ian Bohen as Ryan, Ryan Bingham as Walker, Finn Little as Carter and Jacki Weaver as Caroline Warner.<\/p>\n

We also expect Piper Perabo to be back as Summer Higgins, even though she didn\u2019t make an appearance during the first two episodes.<\/p>\n

In exciting news, country singer Lainey Wilson has joined the cast for season 5, and fans got to see her new character in the season 5 premiere.<\/p>\n

Wilson is played Abby, a singer and performer like Wilson herself, who has expressed no interest in dating a cowboy, but seems to be heading towards romance with Ian Bohen\u2019s Ryan.<\/p>\n

When Wilson revealed her new role in the series at Montana\u2019s Under the Big Sky Festival, she said: \u201cI did want to share some news with y\u2019all \u2013\u00a0I am going to be in the next season of Yellowstone, and I\u2019m excited. I\u2019m going to be a musician on the show named Abby and I get to share my music with a lot of the world who watches the show.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the Yellowstone season 3 ending left us hanging with a multitude of cliffhangers, season 4 ended on a surprisingly upbeat note.<\/p>\n

The first two episodes of season 5 have subsequently seen John Dutton sworn in as Governor of Montana and settling into the powers of his new office, making bold moves to protect the ranch from his opponents.<\/p>\n
