The annual Paul Spragg Memorial Short Trip Opportunity is now live. <\/p>
Doctor Who<\/a> fans have been given another chance to write an official audio story for Big Finish \u2013 with the annual Paul Spragg Memorial Short Trip Opportunity launching today (Monday 8th May).\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The competition is now in its eighth year and is named after the former Big Finish producer\u2019s assistant, who tragically and suddenly passed away in May 2014.<\/p>\n It invites Whovians to submit a one-page synopsis and an opening excerpt of approximately 500 words each, with the winning entry to be released as an audiobook this Christmas.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Submissions can be set in the universe of Doctor Who\u2019s <\/span>Classic<\/span> Series <\/span>at <\/span>any time in the lives of the Doctor from <\/span>An Unearthly Child <\/span>onwards in any one of the <\/span>following incarnat<\/span>ions: <\/span>First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, <\/span>or <\/span>Eighth.<\/span><\/p>\n Established monsters,<\/span> villains and other <\/span>Doctor Who<\/span> characte<\/span>rs cannot be used in the stories \u2013 with the exception of classic series companions and companions created by Big Finish.<\/span><\/p>\n Submissions are open until the end of June and the full list of terms and conditions are listed on the<\/span> Big Finish website<\/span><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p> Speaking about the competition\u2019s launch, Big Finish\u2019s executive producer<\/span><\/span> Nicholas Brigg<\/span>s<\/span><\/span> said: \u201cIt\u2019s a bittersweet time of year when we <\/span>announce our annual Paul Spragg Memorial Writers\u2019 Opportunity. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s the sadness <\/span>concerning the loss of Paul, who was one of our most valued colleagues, taken from this life at<\/span> He continued: \u201cPerhaps most importantly, there\u2019s the enthusiastic <\/span>encouragement he always gave to potential, new contributors<\/span> \u2014<\/span> which is the reason why this <\/span>competitio<\/span>n was set up in his name.
