Among the trio of Knights coming to the Queen Vic<\/a> pub to join Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and her mother is Gina Knight.<\/p>\n Discussing her character in relation to her bubbly little sister Anna (Molly Rainford), actress Francesca Henry revealed to RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press at a launch for the Knight family that Gina had a very different experience to Anna when growing up.<\/p>\n Henry revealed: \u201cI think Gina is really funny and she\u2019s really spiky and I think she sees the kindness in everyone, and I think she wants to be more Anna but she just finds it hard to meet the world in as open-hearted a way and so I think she\u2019s like\u2026 she\u2019s difficult [laughs].<\/p>\n \u201cShe is difficult and sometimes I\u2019m playing it, I\u2019m like, \u2018God, that could have been so easy, an easy interaction and they\u2019re trying to be your mate,\u2019 but she just meets the world with a bit more difficulty than the rest of her family. I think. Well, I think she\u2019s kind.\u201d<\/p> However, she has a very close bond with her father George, played by Colin Salmon, and the two are very similar.<\/p>\n Salmon added: \u201cAnd she got me through what I went through. Yeah, so she grew up too quick.\u201d<\/p>\n This close bond, however, means that Gina will clash somewhat with her prospective stepmother Elaine Peacock, now played by Harriet Thorpe.<\/p>\n Henry added: \u201cYeah, I think there\u2019s a thing with them like, Gina\u2019s relinquishing a lot of her position in the family to Elaine, she\u2019s the, you know\u2026 the eldest sister often takes on a lot of caregiving and emotional baggage of the family.\u201d<\/p>\n Elaine \u201ceven existing in [the Knights\u2019] dynamic is a bit of a step back\u201d for Gina and she is trying to focus on George\u2019s happiness \u2013 but it is not easy.<\/p>\n Thorpe herself noted: \u201cAlso, it\u2019s like, you don\u2019t always get on with people.
