Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda have penned some new songs to go alongside classics such as Under the Sea and Part of Your World. <\/p>
Disney\u2019s highly-anticipated live-action remake of The Little Mermaid<\/a> has finally landed in cinemas.<\/span><\/p>\n The original 1989 animation<\/a> included some of the studio\u2019s most memorable musical numbers such as Part of Your World and Under the Sea by much-loved composers Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, and, fortunately, those classics once again feature prominently in the film.<\/span><\/p>\n Alongside the classic songs, the new remake boasts a number of fresh compositions by Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.<\/span><\/p>\n These new songs include a new song for Ariel (Halle Bailey) called For the First Time, a solo number for Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King) titled Wild Uncharted Waters and, perhaps most notably, a rap performed by Scuttle (Awkwafina) and Sebastian (Daveed Diggs) titled The Scuttlebutt.<\/p>\n Speaking about writing the latter, Menken told RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press: \u201cThe Scuttlebutt\u2026 is just, that\u2019s a surprise gift for [Lin-Manuel], \u2019cause I gave him this Caribbean tune and Lin sort of did a rap over it that was so perfect.<\/p>\n \u201c[He] used the music, but it had this rhythmic pulse to it.
