Season 3 has drawn to a close, so what can we expect from season 4 of the Power spin-off? <\/p>

The Power franchise continues to go from strength to strength, with the new season of Power Book IV: Force<\/a> on the way, and season 3<\/a> of Power Book II: Ghost<\/a> having just wrapped up.<\/p>\n

We already know that a fourth season is on the way, continuing the transformative journey Tariq St Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr) has been on so far.<\/p>\n

Tariq\u2019s mission to \u201cget out of the game for good\u201d has been far from smooth so far, with season 3 seeing shootouts and betrayals galore \u2013 and that\u2019s just in the finale!<\/p>\n

With the third season now all wrapped up, thoughts have naturally started to turn to season 4, which is currently in production in New York and has already cast Michael Ealy (Bel-Air<\/a>) in a major new role, as the leader of an elite drug task force.<\/p>\n

But what else can we expect from Power Book II: Ghost season 4? Read on for everything you need to know.<\/p>

Power Book II: Ghost season 4 release date<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As of now, there hasn\u2019t been a confirmed release date for Power Book II: Ghost season 4.<\/p>\n

What we do know at the moment, though, is that production for the new season is currently underway in New York. Series star Rainey Jr has also stated that fans won\u2019t have as long to wait for season 4 as they did for season 3. He said<\/a> that while production for the cast is under way, there will be \u201csomething to look forward to after season three is over\u201d.<\/p>\n

He further explained: \u201cAnd hopefully, hopefully, the wait for season 4 isn\u2019t as long as the wait was for season 3.\u201d<\/p>\n

Casting announcements for the upcoming new season have been relatively light on the ground, but it\u2019s expected that Rainey Jr will of course be reprising his role as Tariq.<\/p>\n

Joining the cast for season 4 is also Michael Ealy, who fans will recognise for his film roles in Barbershop, Think Like a Man, The Perfect Guy and more recently, in the Netflix<\/a> series The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window<\/a>. Ealy has been cast in a series regular role as Detective Don Carter.<\/p>\n

According to Variety<\/a>, the new character has been described as \u201ca rising NYPD officer\u201d who was on track to become police commissioner \u201cuntil his wife was killed in a crossfire between rival drug gangs\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cVowing to make the streets safer, Carter traded in his tie for a kevlar vest and now leads an elite NYPD drug task force that elicits concrete results against drug related violence. While his achievements are noteworthy public recognition, nothing can bring back his lost love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lorenzo Tejada Sr (Berto Colon) will of course not be returning for season 4 after he was killed by Gordo Castillo (Eric Hernandez), which was ordered by Lorenzo\u2019s wife Monet (Mary J Blige). Why? Well, she finally learnt of the fact that her husband accidentally killed her son Zeke in the season 2 finale after he mistook him for Monet\u2019s ex, Mecca (Daniel Sunjata).<\/p>
