It\u2019s the show that\u2019s currently got everyone talking and with only a matter of days before The Idol<\/a> lands on our screens, audiences<\/a> are nervous with anticipation about what the new six-parter has in store for us.<\/p>\n Aside from being a tale about stardom and Hollywood\u2019s music industry, The Idol follows rising pop star Jocelyn \u201cwho faces the challenges of fame as she navigates a relationship with club owner Tedros,\u201d according to the series\u2019 synopsis.<\/p>\n The show stars Lily-Rose Depp and Abel Tesfaye<\/a> as Jocelyn and Tedros, but music fans will know that Tesfaye is best known for being popular music artist and producer, The Weeknd<\/a>. And they\u2019re in luck, as The Weeknd has now revealed that The Idol will also boast a soundtrack by none other than himself.<\/p>\n Speaking to Interview<\/a>, Tesfaye announced that he\u2019s working on a new album which will double as The Idol soundtrack stating that \u201cthe music is just as important\u201d.<\/p>\n He confirmed: \u201cThere\u2019s a whole album. I\u2019m not shying away from making music. It\u2019s just adding another element to my already crowded schedule.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking about his inspiration for releasing \u201ca television show that is also an album\u201d, Tesfaye said: \u201cI\u2019ve been inspired by The Wall and Purple Rain and when Bowie was doing it, but even films like Shaft, the music is literally telling the story of the film. But I want to take it to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI want to challenge myself and I feel like, as a musician, I\u2019m the best I\u2019ve ever been. But I have ADD. I can\u2019t focus on just that. It\u2019s like, how do I throw a wrench in it?\u201d<\/p>\n It seems as though the musical accompaniment to the series could very well be in multiple volumes, with Tesfaye having just announced that Volume 1 is available to pre-order now, with its release date being this Friday 2nd June<\/strong>.
