Season 3 is shaping up to be a tense one indeed. <\/p>
The much-anticipated third season of Van der Valk<\/a> is back on our screens this month and, once again, we\u2019ll see the titular Dutch detective and his team faced with the cases of three more homicides in the city.<\/p>\n But series star Marc Warren<\/a> has also teased that there\u2019s set to be some tension with some of the new team members who join for season 3.<\/p>\n Chatting exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Warren spoke about the fresh recruits, sergeants Citra Li (Django Chan-Reeves) and Eddie Suleman (Azan Ahmed).<\/p>\n Warren revealed: \u201cThere is friction. Van der Valk is a little bit wary of Django Chan-Reeves\u2019s character at first.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cShe\u2019s incredibly smart and mindful of information, which he\u2019s slightly wary of. And Azan Ahmed\u2019s character sort of reminds him of his younger self, and I think Eddie\u2019s a bit of a loose cannon. So that makes me slightly wary of him.\u201d<\/p> Speaking about Inspector Lucienne Hassell\u2019s reaction to the new faces,\u00a0Maimie McCoy said: \u201cThey\u2019re bringing a lot to the table. Django\u2019s got the goods, so she\u2019s covering a lot of bases. She\u2019s working very hard and she likes that. And that\u2019s great as a young woman on the team as well, that\u2019s a particularly useful quality.<\/p>\n \u201cLucienne also knows that that\u2019s a gap that needs filling. And those relationships develop as we go along.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The third instalment of the Van der Valk rebooted series sees Warren reprise the titular role of Commissaris Piet Van Der Valk and, once more, the series is filmed entirely on location in and around Amsterdam.<\/p>\n Returning for season 3 is also McCoy as Inspector Lucienne Hassell, Darrell D\u2019Silva as team pathologist Hendrik Davie and Emma Fielding as Chief Commissaris Julia Dahlman.<\/p>\n Chris Murray continues as lead writer and showrunner, alongside Michele Buck as Executive Producer for Company Pictures.<\/p>\n After the explosive ending of season 2, fans have been eagerly waiting for the detective drama to return.<\/p>\n Based on\u00a0Nicolas Freeling\u2019s books<\/a>, ITV\u2019s reboot is proving just as popular as the original series, with Warren previously stating<\/a>: \u201cYeah [I\u2019d love to return]. I think as long as people want it, then yeah. Let\u2019s see. Let\u2019s see what the reaction is.\u201d<\/p>
