The saga is set to begin again with a new cast. <\/p>
Daniel Radcliffe has said it would be \u201cweird\u201d for him to make a cameo appearance in the upcoming Harry Potter reboot<\/a>, which is headed to US streaming service Max.<\/p>\n The series will recast the iconic roles of the Wizarding world, with fans hoping the longer runtime will allow for a more comprehensive adaptation than the Harry Potter film series<\/a>, which omitted some elements of JK Rowling\u2019s novels.<\/p>\n In an interview with Deadline<\/a>, Radcliffe said he was happy to pass the baton to a new generation of actors, seemingly ruling out the possibility of getting involved in the reimagining.<\/p>\n \u201cCertainly, from everything I\u2019ve read about the series they\u2019re going to be starting fresh, and so it\u2019d probably be weird to have me pop in,\u201d he explained.<\/p> \u201cI think Harry Potter was always destined to become like Sherlock Holmes\u2026 so it\u2019ll get passed on. The weird thought I have is that there\u2019s probably an eight-year-old kid out there somewhere whose life is going to change in a couple of years. My brain does go there.\u201d<\/p>\n Of course, Radcliffe became an overnight superstar following the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher\u2019s Stone, but has recently focused his efforts on smaller, independent projects \u2013 including acclaimed spoof biopic Weird: The Al Yankovic Story<\/a>.<\/p>\n He concluded: \u201cThe films continuing \u2013 or the series, in this case \u2013 was inevitable\u2026 It\u2019s nice to pass it on to someone else.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n The first attempt by Warner Bros to continue the Harry Potter franchise was something of a misstep, with the Fantastic Beasts<\/a> trilogy earning mixed reviews from critics<\/a> and declining at the box office with each entry.<\/p>\n Going back to the original, much-loved source material is hoped to be a course-correct, with creator Rowling adding she is \u201clooking forward to being part of this new adaptation\u201d.<\/p>\n The Harry Potter films are available to stream on Netflix.
